That being said, we want to share with you a moment captured while Mike was drawing an image for Amy Cook’s new tour shirt.  One of the perks of collaborating with musicians, aside from meeting some really nice people, is we get to hear some great tunes for inspiration. Amy Cook’s new album Summer Skin is a perfect example of said perk.

This video shows the time intensive process of  drawing  separate layers of color for a multi-colored image. The title track to Summer Skin plays in the background.

Obviously, we were pleased when asked to collaborate on some t-shirts. We cracked up when this text came through…”Can Mike draw some coyotes in a dune buggy racing through the canyon, decapitating yuppies and starlets?” He was serious.

Mike Sportes and Maggie Fox, who own the fabulous Filthmart on Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, have designed a fantastic v-neck t-shirt after having a lot of success with their vintage inspired crew neck t-shirt.

According to Maggie, they started their line of crew necks because they just couldn’t find an amazing body on which to print. Mike and Maggie pulled from all of the insanely cool vintage inspiration they’ve had over the years to create their “ultimate t shirt”.
